The meeting will begin with sandwiches provided by the Central Virginia Section in the penthouse conference room on the roof of Building 4 at 6:30 PM. This will be followed by a brief 10 min presentation by NTC personel describing the mission and purpose of the NTC. Then we will break into small groups of 8 to10 people for a tour of the facilities, concluding at about 8 pm.
The Technology Center of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory provides state of the art instrumentation in support of the Observatory's mission. The tour will focus on low noise receivers and local oscillator systems for Radio Astronomy and in particular for the ALMA Observatory in Chile.
